Problem

The in-app integration library in Drip lacked clarity, context, and management tools that helped users confidently choose and maintain their integrations. Native (Drip-built) and third-party integrations were indistinguishable, and there was no way to surface recommended or popular integrations. Third-party integrations also failed to provide clear support pathways, leaving users uncertain about where to go for help.

Additionally, users had no visibility into which integrations were connected or functioning correctly, resulting in poor transparency, confusion, and frustration when managing their tech stack within Drip.

Target Audience

The redesign primarily served three user groups:

  • Marketers and e-commerce operators responsible for setting up and maintaining integrations within Drip.

  • Agencies and implementation partners onboarding new clients and configuring complex tech stacks.

  • Small business owners managing their own Drip integrations without dedicated technical support.

These users varied in technical expertise, but all shared the same needs: clear guidance, intuitive discoverability, and reliable troubleshooting tools to confidently manage their integrations.

Solution

To address these challenges, I redesigned the in-app integration experience to provide greater clarity, organization, and confidence for users managing their connections in Drip.

The new design introduced visual hierarchy and categorization, clearly distinguishing between native and third-party integrations. I implemented labels and badges that surfaced key metadata such as popularity, recommendations, and connection status—helping users make faster, more informed decisions.

I also added contextual guidance and dedicated support pathways, ensuring that users knew where to go for help—whether that was Drip’s internal support or a third-party provider. A new management dashboard offered clear visibility into which integrations were active, connected, or experiencing issues, improving transparency and reducing friction in ongoing maintenance.

This redesign enabled users to discover, evaluate, and manage integrations with greater confidence, aligning the experience with Drip’s mission of empowering marketers and ecommerce teams to grow without technical barriers.
